About The Book: Efficiency is a key factor in bank liquidity management. Mistakes in liquidity planning and implementation can affect banking operations and also exhibit long term effect on the economy. The aim of this book is to investigate the effects of liquidity management on bank performance. The study covers 24 banks which constitute the entire deposit money banking industry in Nigeria from 1986 to 2011. The author examines various liquidity management techniques, concepts and frameworks and carries out an extensive review of related literature. Data obtained from the secondary source through the Annual Financial Reports are analysed and the hypotheses are statistically tested at.05 level of significance. The results reveal that there is a significant relationship between liquidity and bank performance: liquidity and cash reserve ratios are positive while loan to deposit ratio shows negative. However, analysis shows that only the banks with optimum liquidity are able to maximise returns. Such essential information will aid managers and government in their regulatory policy. It would also be useful to professionals, academicians, students and other users who desire to learn.
