The author has come to this conclusion on the basis of her teaching experience. Therefore she decided to elaborate the book "Life in Czechoslovakia Behind Iron Curtain" based on the new archival materials and the latest Czech professional literature focused on the Communist regime from 1945-1989. These archival documents were not available until 1989, the year when the archives were opened for public and researchers, providing a deeper insight concerning the decades of "dictatorship of the working class". The goal of this publication is predominantly educational.

Le Dr Marie Homerová enseigne à l'Université Charles de Prague. Ses recherches portent sur l'enseignement de l'histoire et des sciences sociales, la méthodologie et la didactique, l'histoire culturelle de l'Europe, l'histoire des villes européennes, les régimes totalitaires au 20e siècle. Elle est traductrice de littérature pédagogique sur les études sociales.
