Amanda Ellen Gerke, Ph.D. (2016), is Assistant Professor at the University of Salamanca. She has published articles, chapters and edited volumes on discourse analysis, sociolinguistic approaches to discourse and literature, semiotic theory, and cultural studies, including The Poetics and Politics of Hospitality in US Literature and Culture (Brill, 2020). Luisa María González Rodríguez, Ph.D. (2005), is Associate Professor at the University of Salamanca, where she combines research on literature and linguistics. She has published on the politics and aesthetics of postmodern short fiction and on ethnic literatures, including the chapter "Latino Immigrants at the Threshold: A Sociolinguistic Approach to Hospitality in US Barriocentric Narratives" (Brill, 2020).
