McLaughlin is professor of Old Testament/Hebrew Bible and interim dean of the faculty of theology at the University of St. Michael's College, Toronto, where he teaches ancient Israelite religion, Prophets, and Wisdom Literature, and is an associate member of the graduate faculty, Department of Near and Middle Eastern Civilizations, University of Toronto.
