De auteur is een opvoeder, leraar, docent, opleider, adviseur, onderzoeker en schrijver van wetenschappelijke boeken en artikelen. Hij heeft een graad in Onderwijswetenschappen en in Geesteswetenschappen met een specialisatie in Lichamelijke Opvoeding, een PhD in Onderwijswetenschappen met een specialisatie in onderzoek, en hij is een undergraduate en graduate docent.
