Flavonoids-rich plant foods may also have antiaging effects, and help in preventing age-related deterioration of brain function that is linked to dementia and Alzheimer s disease. The aim of this communication is to give a comprehensive overview of the beneficial health effects of flavonoid-rich foods (FRF) and discuss the action of dietary flavonoids as antioxidants. We examines existing literature on different FRF like fruits, vegetables, beverages and herbs, providing enough evidences about their health promoting effects. Due to their significant disease prevention and curing abilities especially in multifactorial diseases like CVD, these are regarded as superfoods of the millennium.

Asghar Ali Kamboh was born in Mehrab Pur, Sindh, Pakistan. He got his school/college education in Mehrab Pur, while bachelor (DVM) and Master (Vet. Microbiology) degree from Sindh Agriculture University Tando Jam and joined the same university as teaching assistant in 2006. He did his PhD in 2012 from Nanjing Agricultural University, China.
