This study analyses aspects of education opportunity and inequality in East African region. It does so by documenting education asymmetry, determinants of access and opportunities in education, performance and outcome, gender aspects and labor market outcomes in East African Community member states of Kenya, Burundi, Tanzania, Uganda and Rwanda. The study analysis is crucial for understanding education system influencing labor mobility and skill demand within the East African Community. Findings from such analysis will help policy makers in the region to design education policies and strategies that cater for integrated labor market of East Africa. It will be recalled that after intensive efforts of the three countries i.e. Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda, the Treaty for Establishment of the East African Community was signed on 30th November 1999 and entered into force on 7th July 2000 following its ratification by the Original 3 Partner States - Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania. The increased integration within the East Africa has accelerated labor mobility within the region.
