In the blink of an eye, she is claimed by the king to be his queen and her brother makes it abundantly clear that he is not willing to go home. Before she could convince her brother to come home or convince the king that she wasn't going to be his queen. The portal is closed and the option to go home is gone. Mara is stuck on a planet filled with dragons and thrust in to a struggle for power every where she turns. In between all of this was Tohr and his desire to win her hand and her heart. Even though she wasn't sure about him and she had reservations about whether or not she could trust him. She was quickly realizing that when the King of the Golden Draygons made up his mind about something, he would stop at nothing to make it happen.
