This is the largest warming trend at least in the last several hundred years. Glacial melting and sea level rise have been reported to be associated with global warming, which has also been predicted to intensify the hydrologic cycle in humid regions. As a result of these, one day, the man himself would commit suicide due to un-tolerable consequences. Until then, he/she researches and implements some sort of strategies to conserve the nature for survival. Tropical inhabitants have got a big task to perform in this by conserving the environment, because the tropical forests play a major role to control the disasters by sequestering atmospheric carbon as biomass accumulations.

The main author of the publication is Dr. K.A.J.M. Kuruppuarachchi, Senior Lecturer in Botany,The Open University of Sri Lanka.He has obtained B.Sc.;M.Sc. in Forestry;P.G.Dip.Ed ;M.Ed and PhD (Advanced Environmental Science) from recognized universities in Sri Lanka and authored more than twenty research publications.
