My name is Farren, and I'm truly honored to be here with you. Before we dive into this journey together, I want to share a bit of my story with you because I believe that my experiences can be a guiding force for you, especially if you're living with post-traumatic stress disorder ("PTSD") chronic illness, panic, pain, anxiety, depression or any other host of disabilities or issues.From a very young age, I faced the challenges of panic and anxiety. By the time I was just 8 years old, these struggles became a constant part of my life. For over 30 years, I endured relentless panic attacks. Until my mid-30s, these attacks were a shadow that followed me everywhere. I never took anything to help during these events. When I was young, my main stress response was to freeze. Freeze is one of the three stress responses, the other two being fight or flight. Most people have one main response, but I would also have flight or flee. This built the base for the psychological trauma that would plague me for the next few decades.I also experienced an intense, debilitating chronic illness, panic and anxiety, and physical pain throughout my body, which began when I was around seven or eight years old and persisted for almost three decades. I found myself living in my car for weeks on end, feeling isolated and alone, contributing to my depression and anxiety. Eventually, I reached a point in life where anger, exhaustion, and depression took hold of me. I felt lethargic, apathetic, and numb. I was overwhelmed by sadness, helplessness, hopelessness, and fear. Every corner I turned seemed to be filled with new fears. Yes, there were good times, moments of joy and high spirits, but they were always overshadowed by a storm that was always on the horizon and close by.I often found myself spiraling downward, struggling just to keep my head above water. I was trapped in a cycle of negative patterns that I couldn't seem to escape. The pain even became so intense that there were times I could barely walk. I couldn't hold down a job because of the constant physical and emotional turmoil. It was a dark time to say the least.But here's the truth: I've been where you are, and I've come through to the other side. Today, I no longer experience chronic physical pain. I no longer live in the grip of chronic anxiety. I no longer suffer from panic attacks. There is hope, and there is a way out. If I can find peace and healing, so can you. Because in spite of these challenges, I accomplished some incredible things in life. I've walked the path of struggle and hardship, and I've come out on the other side stronger and more resilient. My hope is that by sharing my journey, I can help you navigate your own challenges to find the peace and strength you deserve.In this book, you will embark on a transformative journey of understanding, growth, and healing. Each chapter is designed to guide you deeper into your own self-discovery, and to help you unlock the strength, resilience, and peace that lies within you.
