We borrowed the cadence from the beloved holiday poem- one certainly written by someone else than the author who gets all the credit- and added our own twist based on research on how these old traditions have stood the test of time despite thousands of years of minimization. And maybe we can tell a story to our children that does not feel like a huge lie anymore... Maybe our kids bring out the latent archaeologists in us that beg us to keep asking questions we stopped asking...
