Was it safe? No. Did that stop me and two friends from doing it? No. Did we do it for the thrill or for a purpose? Both. At times we wondered if we would survive. This journey and later Arabian adventures gave me an understanding of the larger world and my place and purpose in that world. I now enjoy a life that is informed and enriched by those experiences and allows me to fulfil that purpose.
