Amy Archer is trapped-doomed to spinsterhood unless she can escape her mother's household. Her wobbly self-image makes Amy fair game for her mom's tyranny. Scaring off would-be suitors, Almighty Mom relents when she spots movie-star handsome Bob. Yes, she decides, he's the one for her daughter. One glitch-Amy can't stand Bob. The only thing Amy likes about the tightwad is his grandmother Vi, a flashy former show-girl. When entrancing, blue-eyed Matt enters the picture, Amy, emboldened by Vi, sprinkles on the sparkles, defies her seething mother, and sets out to entice the captivating new guy.
