Autor

Buraq is the pseudonym of a veteran Arab writer, poet and journalist who was well known in Beirut's cultural and artistic circles in the early 1980s. He used to write for the cultural pages of Lebanese newspapers and magazines, particularly about Western artists, writers and intellectuals who were at the forefront of their respective countries at the time. These included Gilles Deleuze, Félix Guattari, Michel Foucault, Heidegger, Holderlin, Pierre de Castres, Georges Bataille, Andy Wharrol, Yanis Ritsos, Nazim Hikmat, William Burroughs and the Beat Generation - the 'Counter-culture' group -, and others whom Buraq introduced to his readers. Buraq translated some of those writers and published their works in the Arab world via Beirut.Buraq holds two MA degrees in literature (English and Arabic). He lives in Paris (France).
