Quantitative part was the secondary data collected from health registers to identify the proportion of caesarean section among women admitted to the hospital and, identify indications and outcomes of caesarean section among women admitted in the hospitals. Qualitative part consisted of conducting in-depth interviews with women who with experience of caesarean section and health providers of the same facility to understand women s experiences in regard to caesarean section and understand health workers perspectives regarding caesarean section.Although this study, presented a snap shot of two health facilities in a confined area of Dhaka City, the issues raised are relevant to similar settings in the country.
