Sam Queeno's purpose in life is striving to make the world a safer place to live, work and play®. Sam is the Director of Physical Security for American Electric Power. He is responsible for leading Physical Security for the corporation, which includes the protection of people, information, and assets. Sam has over 25 years of experience in the Security industry with expertise in Utility, Financial, Health Care, Security Operations Center, and Contract Guard Service. In 2018, Sam started Best Friend Friday a weekly video that highlights Best Friends at Work. This began because of the Gallup Q12 Engagement Survey and question 10, "I have a best friend at work"? Since the initial video, Best Friend Friday has morphed over the years and became a framework to drive change and improve relationships at work and beyond. Sam is the author of Do You Have a Best Friend at Work - How Friday Became the Day to Celebrate Your Best Friends at Work. It is Sam's belief that you cannot accomplish anything alone and need people in your life to help you along the way. Sam hopes this book will help people engage with others and improve culture at your workplace and in life. Sam holds a bachelor's degree in criminal justice and is a Certified Protection Professional, board certified in security management from ASIS, the largest international security organization. Sam is an NRA certified Firearm Safety, Pistol and Personal Protection instructor, Stop the Bleed instructor and an Emergency Medical Responder. Sam currently serves on the Security Leadership Committee for the Edison Electric Institute and is a member of the Board of Trustees for the First Responders' Bridge.
