This essay focuses on the relationship that tied the famous Italian writer Luigi Pirandello to Jenny Schulz-Lander, a young woman from the Rhine region whom he met during his university studies in Bonn. The Author presents several unpublished texts such as the booklet entitled Gedanken ("Thoughts", 1890) - which Pirandello left as a gift to Jenny - analyzing the role played by the German girl in the works of the Italian Nobel prize winner.
