It is normally established that hardness and wear resistance of MMCs is formed by reinforcement and also the wear properties are enriched extraordinarily by introducing reinforcements into the aluminium metal matrix. Among the materials of tribological significance, Aluminium alloy -silicon composites have received extensive attention for real as well as fundamental reasons. The reinforcing materials generally used as SiC, and are economical. The present investigation work has been undertaken with an objective to discover the use of SiC as a reinforcing material due to its easy availability.
