Public trust in their doctors was significantly undermined, and medicine was held publicly to account as never before.

Autor

AYESHA NATHOO is a Research Fellow at Clare Hall, University of Cambridge, UK, and a member of the Department of History and Philosophy of Science. Her research interests include history of modern medicine, science communication, medical humanitarianism, and postwar international health.
