Katherine Mansfield's literature is nothing but a constant and harsh struggle against that evil, a struggle that led the writer in the last years of her life, when she went to live in the south of Paris, to engage in a creative feminist group based on the concept of searching for humanity's costly good through literary and artistic expression. It is clear that the decisive contradiction between the life of that group and its asceticism, and the bustle of the capitals that Catherine's stories expressed, contributed fundamentally to hastening her departure, and also to her not objecting to the will of fate.
