These are the rules of the long walk. A competition 100 young boys take as a challenge to win fame, money and the fullfilling of one wish of their very own. Only one can win. This book clearly topped my expectations! A book where nothing happens but walking - must be boring, right? Not at all! I was just so in awe at the tension that was built up through the entire book. Published as one of the first novels of Stephen King (alias Richard Bachman) it's typically cruel, disgusting and holds the horror of a fictional reality. It has exceptinal writing, which is quite straight forward and nice to follow. If you liked the recent produced movie, I can highly recommend this book! Its a bit different than the movie itself but I definitely did enjoy both!
