Die Studien Texte zur "Wiener Ausgabe" der Schriften Ludwig Wittgensteins machen diese Primärtranskription erstmals in preiswerter Form zugänglich. Die fünf handlichen Bände sind, ohne Kompromisse in bezug auf Werktreue und Ausstattung, vollständig in die Gesamtausgabe integriert: Aus den ca. 35 Text- und Apparate-Bänden der ersten Abteilung der "Wiener Ausgabe" - dem Korpus der "Philosophischen Bemerkungen", an dem Wittgenstein von 1929 bis 1934 gearbeitet hat - werden zunächst sieben Studien Texte erscheinen: die Manuskriptbände I bis X, das sind die Bände 1-5 der "Wiener Ausgabe", sowie das sogenannte "Big Typescript", die Bände 10,1 und 10,2 der "Wiener Ausgabe". Die Studien Texte ergänzen die "Wiener Ausgabe" der Schriften Wittgensteins und bieten einen vollständigen Zugang zur Gesamtausgabe mitsamt ihren Apparaten und zukünftigen Kommentaren.

They are thus fully compatible with the Wiener Ausgabe and its Apparatus, as well as the forthcoming Commentary volumes, and will be developed in line with the expansion of the Wiener Ausgabe. In short, a complete and faithful edition of the writings of Wittgenstein at a reasonable price.
