Summer Memories and Mixed Feelings

Bewertung am 06.10.2025

Bewertungsnummer: 2618280

Bewertet: Buch (Taschenbuch)

After really enjoying the first two books (well honestly probably the first more than the second) with their nostalgic teenage summer vibe, I was excited to see how the story would conclude. Those earlier parts perfectly balanced light romance, growing-up anxieties, and just the right amount of drama, which is exactly what I expect from a YA summer story. This final book, however, felt a bit different. It was frustrating to see the sweet and caring boy we got to know in the first two books act like a complete idiot. Jeremiahs choices were confusing, especially considering he has been in love with Belly for so long. It seemed like the author pushed us toward liking Conrad again, rather than letting it come naturally through his actions. That’s why it was hard to understand Belly’s decisions. I couldn’t see why she forgave Jeremiah so easily when she clearly wasn’t over everything that had happened, and it was even more confusing that she decided to get married when she didn’t seem excited about it at all. At times the pacing felt a bit uneven, and some plot points, especially toward the end, felt rushed, which made it harder to fully connect with the story. There were also moments that felt repetitive, and I wished the book had spent a little more time exploring Belly’s emotions and personal growth. On the positive side, the book still delivered the summer nostalgia I love, and I was happy that we got to see a bit more of the nice and caring Conrad. Overall, while it wasn’t as satisfying as the first two books, it was still enjoyable to revisit Belly’s world and the characters I’ve grown attached to.

Not the best one but enjoyable

I enjoyed reading this book, no doubt – but i had a little problem with the whole wedding situation. It really came out of nowhere and I think the story did’nt need it. It made the atmosphere feels loaded and missed the vibe the first book gave me. But as in the other books i liked the writing and the characters. So in conclusion i would have liked a story without a proposal but nevertheless Jenny Han could catch me again.
