The recent Mobility Capabilities Study determined that the need for additional C-17s beyond 180 was not economically feasible in this time of tight budgets and the overall recapitalization of other Air Force aircraft. With the 180th C-17 scheduled to enter the fleet in FY08, a hard look must be given to utilizing this high demand asset in the most efficient manner possible. This increased utilization must include those C-17s assigned to AETC to conduct initial and upgrade training at Altus AFB.
