Bobby the rabbit wants to be "the greatest animal impersonator of all," but everybody he impersonates objects to his activities, thinking he is making fun of them, including Mr. Groundhog, the mayor. He quits practicing his impersonations as a result. Then when Groundhog Day arrives and the mayor is too sick to meet the press to discover whether he can see his shadow, the rabbit is called upon to don his costume and he saves the day!
