THOMAS SMITH served in the U.S. Marine Corps as Captain and Judge Advocate at Camp Pendleton, California. He is the author of On Marine Culture and has written articles for the Marine Corps Gazette and Michigan Out-of-Doors. He also has authored various legal works for the Michigan Judicial Institute (MJI) and Michigan Supreme Court. He currently lives with his wife and two children in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
