Fast dissolving tablets show significantly greater drug dissolution, absorption, the onset of clinical action, and drug bioavailability than conventional tablets. Formulation of fast dissolving tablets by direct compression technique includes the incorporation of superdisintegrants or highly water-soluble excipients into the formulation.Superdisintegrants play an important role in the formulation of fast dissolving tablets.
