This is a complex and interesting topic, involving areas such as the environment, health, education, society, economics, technology, engineering, etc., in addition to public and private entities. Also noteworthy is the change in perspective: what was once considered garbage and had no value or use, destined only for disposal in places with no concern for the environment, is now considered solid waste, with economic value, generating employment and income, and which, with the use of techniques, can be reused and/or recycled, used for composting or transformed into energy.
