Author Helen Divjak, who moved to Fremont while attending graduate school at the University of Washington, celebrates the traditions and legacies of the neighborhood with which she quickly identified as her own home. Fourth-generation Fremont denizen and editor Julie Pheasant-Albright adds her family's collection of historic images, including the now famous Red Door.
