This book analyzes policies to prevent violent radicalism in Tunisian prisons, using the example of Mornaguia prison to explore the dynamics of radicalization in detention and possible levers for action. Based on a qualitative approach combining semi-directive interviews and field observations, it highlights the discrepancy between an essentially security-oriented strategy and the psychosocial needs of inmates, faced with isolation, lack of reintegration programs and stigmatization, while prison officers suffer from fatigue, lack of training and limited resources. In view of these findings, the study recommends the introduction of specialized training, improved conditions of detention, the creation of appropriate reintegration schemes and the strengthening of inter-professional cooperation, arguing for a more balanced Tunisian prison policy, reconciling security and respect for fundamental rights, to ensure sustainable and effective prevention of violent radicalization.
