Too many people tend to feel alone, because the stigma of mental illness and heartbreak is real, and is always present. The collection is separated into four sections: The Calm, The Gray, Anxiety Series, and The Clearing. Each chapter documents the ups and downs that life may serve you. The Calm is made up of reflections for when you are just content in life. Not exactly sad, but not exactly happy either. It's the dormant foreshadowing of the storm that is forming. The Gray depicts the lows of mental illness, a broken heart, internal struggles, and everyday worries. The Anxiety Series is made up of poems that were written in the midst of anxiety-stricken episodes, when all I needed was to write to chronicle what I was feeling, and what I wanted to grow from. Lastly, The Clearing is the aftermath of the storm. Finally being able to leave your room and take a true breath of air. It's clearing up your mind and your fears in order to love and understand yourself. This is the growth of learning to love yourself despite the storm.
