The teens - Jonathan McNeal, Vivian Brown, and Lynda Meyers- forge a lifetime friendship. Vivian is shy and afraid to speak up for herself. Lynda acts without thinking and ends up in a lot of trouble, even after her father threatens her with reform school. Jon is spoiled by his mother and never thinks about anything except what he wants out of life. In college, each is happy to be away from the watchful eyes of their parents. Two of the friends get into trouble that could end their college careers. Lynda and Jon get caught stealing from the local grocery store and are arrested, but Jon's mother gets them out of trouble. After graduating from college, Vivian gets a job at a local radio station, Jon becomes an insurance salesman, and Lynda joins the local police, becoming the first black female in the department. Jon and Vivian end up married. Their first child, Tomika, gets arrested for murdering a man at Uncle Candyman's Grocery. Tomika says she doesn't know why she killed the man. What's the real story? Author Bio: Describing herself as a Florida sunshine native, Geraldine McCall grew up in Pompano Beach and now calls Fort Lauderdale home. "I love Florida for the sunshine and the palm trees. I love the feel of the sun and the brightness that it brings." Retired from the Florida Department of Transportation, this is the author's fifth book.

Autor

Geraldine McCall is a Florida native, having been born in Pompano Beach, Florida. She now calls Fort Lauderdale, Florida her home. Geraldine retired from the State of Florida, Department of Transportation after many years of faithful service. During her employment she worked as the System Administrator for moves, adds and changes (MAC's) and instructed computer software classes. Geraldine is a dedicated member of her church where she works with the Society of Missions, Circle Mary of Bethany, the Deaconess Board and attends Ladies Sunday School classes regularly. She is a lifetime member of the NAACP and a lifetime associate member of Florida A&M University Alumni Association, Broward Chapter, where she has held the positions of assistant secretary and secretary. She also is serving as the Ecumenical Celebrations, and Ecumenical Action person for Church Women United (Florida) Geraldine loves working in her garden and traveling. She is the mother of three, grandmother of nine and great-grandmother of five. Geraldine has authored five books.
