Ever since her mother read her a picture book of Pinocchio when she was three years old, Marilee Joy Mayfield has been fascinated by children's books. Together with her sister, she published a magazine when she was eleven and her sister was eight. She was a teacher and curriculum writer by her early twenties and over the years has worked in every aspect of publishing from creative concept to finished book.Her passion has always been fairy tales and stories that inspire children to develop into kind, empathetic adults. After ten years of promoting her own books and ghostwriting for many different types of publishing companies, in 2019 she was offered several publishing contracts by an innovative, creative start-up publisher, Puppy Dogs & Ice Cream Publishing. Since then four of her books have achieved mega bestseller status with over 100,000 books of each title sold.Writing both fiction and nonfiction for children is her passion and she hopes to never retire.
