They are not the same! It may be shocking to discover that neither red nor blue are considered primary colors for markers or paints! Most of us were misled about this at an early age. So sad! They blend, bounce (reflect) and bend (refract) light. They split, combine, scatter, absorb and filter it. Children examine common objects with magnifying lenses. Then they form their own lenses using both water and then gelatin. They soon discover that with lenses -- SHAPE is everything. They filter images and explore the world of the invisible. They discover that only a tiny fraction of "light" is actually visible to the human eye.
