The author engages here with a broad range of work from across the humanities and social sciences, drawing on Merleau-Ponty's phenomenological philosophy, Ingold's anthropology, the geographies of Massey, Seamon and Thrift, and the sociologies of Bourdieu, Sudnow and Urry.
