In the process of a visit to the Casbah, Janine discovers that all is not as it seems with the princess's disappearance, or with the Algerian businessmen who are funding Rick's restoration project. Finally, on her return to Paris, she follows a lead to Grasse in the south of France to search for a princess who does not wish to be found.
