The material included illuminates the context of her work on ritual and includes reference to occult societies with which Yeats and Charles Williams were associated. It also illustrates the difficulties which beset women when working in a field normally considered the preserve of men. `Update', now a regular feature updating previous articles, is devoted to ROGER SIMPSON's additional material on 'Arthurian Legend in Fine and Applied Art of the 19th and early 20th Centuries', a subject originally covered by Christine Poulson in Volume IX. Dr RICHARD BARBER is the author of two classic Arthurian books, 'Arthurian Legends' and 'King Arthur: Hero and Legend', in addition to a number of other books on the history and literature of the middle ages.
