Autor

Sam is a bioinformatician with a keen interest in advancing individualised cancer and rare disease treatments. Living in Bridgend, Wales, her hobbies involve cars, cross-stitching and guitar playing. Despite having such a promising life ahead of her, which was evident from an early age, alcoholism very nearly destroyed her future chances of success. A first-class degree, a distinction-level master's degree and being head of Mensa Wales did nothing to deter the hold alcohol had on her. Now, still considering herself in recovery, she wants to share her story for other young adults who could be struggling with addiction, mental ill health, or are curious about the benefits that sobriety can bring.
