Frightened and confused, he doesn't know where to turn. He can't talk to his two best friends, Chris and Mike, and his parents are now getting a divorce because of his dreams. But everything changes when he meets the mysterious Coven family. He doesn't know why, but Chase immediately feels he can trust this family who look eerily similar to him. The Elder of the group tells Chase he must leave the life he knows and go to St. Hugo's Hospital for four years. The medication and training he will receive there will help him control his dreams and his impulses. It is there where he will also meet his match: his soulmate who will complete his dreams by dreaming of when and where the murders will take place. Upon leaving St. Hugo's, he and his match will join the Coven family in saving the lives of the people in their dreams. Without a second thought, Chase agrees to go. Four years later, Chase leaves St. Hugo's and officially joins the Coven family. The problem is, he hasn't found his match. This is the first time in the Coven family's history this has happened, and the Elder is worried, though he tries not to show it.
