Sarah Agnes Estelle (Sadie) Irvine (1887 - 1970) was an American
artist and educator. Her work is associated with the Newcomb
College pottery school, where she was trained and taught until her
retirement in 1952. Newcomb was the first women''s
coordinate college in the nation, and the first degree-granting
college for women established within a United States university.
This model was later used in partnerships such as Pembroke College
at Brown University and Barnard College at Columbia University.
