John Boyne wurde 1971 in Dublin, Irland, geboren, wo er auch heute lebt. Er studierte "Englische Literatur' und 'Kreatives Schreiben' in Dublin und Norwich. Er ist der Autor von sechs Romanen, darunter "Der Junge im gestreiften Pyjama", der zwei Irische Buchpreise gewann, für den "British Book Award" nominiert war und vor kurzem verfilmt wurde. John Boynes Romane wurden in über vierzig Sprachen übersetzt.

Das Buch "Noah Barleywater runs away" wurde von John Boyne geschrieben. Manche kennen ihn vielleicht, weil er das berühmte Buch "The Boy in the striped Pyjamas" geschrieben hat. Das Buch handelt, wie man sich denken kann, um einen Jungen namens Noah barleywater. Noah ist acht Jahre alt und hat ein Problem. Er will weg! Einfach nur weg! Warum? Darüber möchte er nicht sprechen. Als er dann eine Nacht wirklich von zu Hause wegläuft, kommt er an vielen kleinen Städten vorbei. In einer der Städtenan denen er vorbei kommt, beschließt er zu bleiben. Als er in eine Spielzeug-Fabrik kommt, fällt ihm erstmal nichts ungewöhnliches auf. Doch dann trifft er einen älteren Mann. Erst dann merkt er, was hier komisch ist..... Mehr will ich euch noch nicht verraten! ;-) Mir hat das Buch gut gefallen, weil es immer spannend wurde. Man möchte garnicht mehr aufhören zu lesen. Ich würde es weiter Empfehlen, aber nur für Kinder zwischen 7-13 Jahren. Für Erwachsene währe es vielleicht ein bisschen kindisch, und für Kinder unter 7 ist es vielleicht ein bisschen schwer zu lesen.
