Excerpt: The Fusil Automatique Léger ("Light Automatic
Rifle") or FAL is a self-loading, selective fire battle rifle
produced by the Belgian armaments manufacturer Fabrique Nationale
de Herstal (FN). During the Cold War it was adopted by many North
