Greece offers lots of opportunities, even during the crisis. That is the conclusion of the author Georg Petras. Like so many business colleagues from completely different sectors, he has rolled up his sleeves and kept on going. With informative insights due to his background you can find out lots of information about Greece, the sunny island of Rhodes, which belongs to the most beautiful regions of the world, and about the past seven years of crisis in this area. As a German in Greece and as a Greek in Germany, Petras has been allowed to live a "double life" and has pointed out some interesting details in a very objective manner. In his story it is about people and partly about certain dramatic events. But the message, which through his personal background is conveyed in a staccato style, is clear. Never give up! And, Greece has enormous potential! Let s go Hellas!
Autorenporträt
1971 born near Stuttgart. Nevertheless, Petras is a son of the island of Rhodes, because his father comes from there. Petras Senior emigrated to Germany in the 1960s and worked in mechanical engineering. Georg Petras grew up as a child of divorced parents in Stuttgart. German and Greek are his native languages. Already at a young age he learned to be independent. He grew up with his father who worked full time. At first Georg Petras began his apprenticeship as a hotel specialist, but he did not feel very challenged. After school and training, he wanted to set up something on his own. In 1993 it was time. With his savings he rented his first van and became his own boss. After the insolvency of his client in 1998, despite high risks and the chance of losses, Petras decided to go for it "all or nothing" and launched a logistics company. The company was recognised with several awards. In 2008, Petras sold the company to a French, international group. Petras remained as a managing dire

ctor in the company for another year. But he already had a new idea: In 2009 he acquired the Engel & Völkers licenses for the Dodecanese area. These include Rhodes, Symi, Kos and other smaller islands. In 2010, he opened his Engel & Völkers office in the town of Rhodes. Petras is married and lives with his wife, his son and his dog in Stuttgart and Rhodes.
