Der "Ring des Nibelungen", dieser kühne Zyklus von vier
abendfüllenden Musikdramen, beschäftigte den Textdichter und
Komponisten von den ersten Plänen bis zur Vollendung über zwanzig
Jahre lang. Neu an diesem Zyklus sind die Wortschöpfungen und
Alliterationen bzw. Stabreime und auch das kompositorische
Verfahren der Leitmotivik. Dieses Buch enthält das vollständige
Textbuch des Rings mit den Leitmotiven für jedes der vier Werke.
Zusätzlich findet der Leser am Rand neben dem Text das jeweils
erklingende bzw. die jeweils erklingenden Leitmotive sowie Angaben
über die Zeitdauer des Auftretens. So wird es möglich, auch ohne
Studium der Partitur oder des Klavierauszugs jene Motive zu
erfassen, die im Falle einer Übereinanderschichtung nicht eindeutig
bestimmbar sind.

full-length music dramas, kept the librettist and the composer busy
for more than twenty years, from the first ideas until its
completion. What was new about this cycle was the word creations
and alliterations or stave rhymes and even the compositional
leitmotif technique.This edition contains the complete libretto of
the 'Ring' including the leitmotifs of each of the four
works. In addition, the reader finds the respective leitmotif(s) as
well as information on the duration of its/their appearance in the
margin beside the text. Thus, it is possible to grasp motifs which
are difficult to determine in the case of superimposition, even
without studying the score or the piano reduction.
