Mark Bailey beschäftigt sich seit mehr als 25 Jahren in seinem Unternehmen Baileys im britischen Herefordshire mit der Entwicklung seines »Recycling-Konzepts«. Seine Produkte sind stets eine Mischung aus Altem und Neuem, ständig ist er auf der Suche nach Dingen, die niemand mehr haben will, um sie zu reparieren, aufzupeppen und neu zu nutzen. Aufgrund seines beruflichen Hintergrunds in Architektur, Raumdesign und Möbelbau entstand eine langjährige Zusammenarbeit mit der Musik- und Modebranche, dem Einzelhandel und Produktdesign. Mark Bailey hat für Ralph Lauren, Paul Smith, Donna Karan, Liberty, Conran, Habitat und Tkashimaya gearbeitet und war an Projekten des Victoria & Albert Museums, der Royal Shakespeare Company, des britischen Nationaltheaters und der English National Opera beteiligt; seine eigenen Arbeiten wurden in zahlreichen Zeitschriften wie Elle Decoration, Livingetc, World of Interiors, Country Living und Vogue einer breiten Öffentlichkeit vorgestellt.
